Generations of viewers have been visiting the house of Kevin McCallister every Christmas since 1990 – and now, a few lucky people will get to go there for real.

The luxurious mansion in Chicago will be open for booking on just one night this December, to make many a kid’s Christmas dreams come true.

Just in case you’re among the few to have never seen it, festive family comedy Home Alone sees the McCallister family head off on vacation in France – only to accidentally leave behind their son Kevin (Macaulay Culkin).

However, according to the Airbnb listing, it isn’t Kevin who’s putting the house up for rent, but his big brother Buzz.

Buzz (actor Devin Ratray) is quoted as remarking, “You may not remember me as particularly accommodating.”

“But I’ve grown up, and I’d be happy to share my family home – my pizza, even – with you this holiday season. Just try not to let my tarantula, Axl, loose this time.”

Ratray himself will be there in person to greet the lucky people who get to stay in the property on 12th December (booking is available from the 7th).

Booby traps, a mirror to scream in and 90s junk food are promised – but there’s no guarantee that the guests will be safe from bad-tempered burglars…
