Remember Nancy Downs From ‘The Craft’? Here She Is Now!

It’s been 20 years since we saw these ladies make magic happen on the big screen in their movie The Craft which ended up being the ultimate teenage flick.  Girls everywhere were mesmerized by their charm, beauty, intrigue and of course, the magic!  We all wish that we could make stuff like this happen in our own lives and so watching this movie was a great way to feel as if it were all possible.

Admit it, after this movie you probably thought that becoming a Wiccan was the thing for you.  Unfortunately, you weren’t able to cast any magic spells but nonetheless, you were a big fan of this movie and the witches in it.  So, to celebrate, let’s take a look back at the cast and see what they have been up to since this epic movie came out.

Fairuza Balk.

She was the dark witch-wanna-be known as Nancy Downs who was the leader of the coven and ended up going insane. She went on to play other gothic roles in The Island of Dr. Moreau, American History X, and The Waterboy and then went onto to play in Personal Velocity. Then she went back to her roots and owned an occult store (Panpipes) in Hollywood between 1995-2001. Later, in 2002, she played smaller roles in Indie films and did some voice-over work for video games.

Robin Tunney.

Sarah Bailey was the only ‘real’ witch in this movie and she tried to save everyone from the coven. She ultimate showed off her power to keep the coven away from her.  Since then she didn’t do much in the acting world until 2002 when she played the lead role in Cherish.  Then, in 2004, she was in a pilot episode of House before being in Prison Break in 2005. In 2008, she was in The Mentalist, a show that lasted until 2015.

Neve Campbell.

She was already well known when this movie came out and afterwards, she played in the Scream movies between 1996 and 2011. During that time, she also starred in Three To Tango and When Will I Be Loved. She was also in Wild Things in 1998 which was a very adult film.

Recently, she came back to television and appeared on The Simpsons, Mad Men, Manhattan and House of Cards.

Rachel True.

She was the fourth witch in the coven who was dealing with the some pressures of being the only black woman at St. Benedict’s (the preppy high school that they attended).

After this film, she had a part in Half-Baked and also starred in Half & Half from 2002-2006.  In 2014, she came back in the cult classic Sharknado 2. Now she focuses her time on social activism and good health.

Skeet Ulrich.

This guy was murdered by Nancy in The Craft and again in the movie Scream. Afterwards, in 1997, he was in Touch with Christopher Walken and then in The Newton Boys in 1998. Between 2006-2008, he was in Jericho and then again in Law and Order in 2010. Unfortunately, he was written about the show. In 2011 he bounced between projects, guest starring in Unforgettable in 2015 and 2016.

Christine Taylor.

This was an awful scene in which she lost her hair due to witchcraft. She later starred in Hey Dude and The Brady Bunch Movie.

However, just after The Craft, she landed a role in the TV version of Party Girl but it was cancelled after only 4 episodes. She made a few guest appearances on the TV show Friends and also had a role in The Wedding Singer and Heat Vision and Jack.  She later went on to be in both the Zoolander films, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story and she appeared in Arrested Development and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Connie Francis.

Her famous line in this film was, “Since I was a little girl, all I’ve wanted in life is a jukebox that played nothing but Connie Francis records.”  Francis is still singing and wrote her autobiography, Among My Souvenirs.
