These cartoons were a nice change from the childish plots of most cartoons.  Instead, these gave us a sense of adventure and we were thrilled to have plenty of action shows to choose from. Although, it was hard to pick a favorite because they were all so good.  Now, we didn’t have to only dream about having these kinds of powers because we got to live them vicariously through these cartoons.  Here are a bunch of action cartoons that you are sure to remember.


1. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

He would hold the Sword of Power high above his head and yell, “By The Power of Grayskull!” before he transformed into He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe.

2. Thundercats.

They had their own famous cry, “Thundercats Thundercats HOOOO!” They were the last survivors of their home planet.

This super robot was piloted by a group of astronauts.

4. Star Blazers.

This was our first taste of the world of anime and the visual aspect of it was the best of all the cartoons at that time.

This Native American comes to New Texas planet to be the new Marshal and bring order to their lives.

This was a classic show about a special forces group that were out to combat Cobra.

7. Transformers.

A story that never gets old.  However,these were the original aliens in disguise.

8. The Centurions.

We didn’t get enough of the movie so it expanded to this cartoon. A lot of movies did this.

This was the video game that came to life. It was great to watch it without having to play it.
