This movie made us all want to travel back into time in order to change our futures, even just a little. Now that we look back at this movie, we start to notice all of the great lessons that it bestowed upon us. Perhaps now, we can appreciate our current surroundings and not be so anxious to make changes. Take a look at these great, life lessons from our favorite movie:
1. If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.
The thing we learned most is that his father was that he was all too willing to give up on his dreams in the past. However, once he decided to change the way he thinks of himself he ultimately changed his life.
2. Science is cool.
Why else would you hang out with this guy every day before and after school? There must be something cool about it!
3. Flyers contain important information.
Without this flyer, he would’ve never been able to generate the 1.21 gigawatts of electricity he needed to power his ride back to the future.
4. Fax machines are the wave of the future.
We like to think that fax machines are being phased out but now we see that they will continue to rule our lives forever.
5. Know your limits.
Drinking for Doc was a blackout event after only one drink. You should always know your limits.
6. Manure can be used as a weapon.
This was the best way to get back at this bad guy. We just need to track down a truck load!
7. Anyone named, ‘Needles’ cannot be trusted!
They will only talk you into a shady business deal.
8. Pick your own friends.
Sure, being friends with an elderly scientist may be frowned upon but don’t listen to anyone who tries to tell you this.
9. We were all dumb teenagers at one time.
Therefore, even your parents made all of these mistakes as well. Go easy on yourself.
10. Do not be all powerful.
You end up looking like Donald Trump the same bad hair.
11. Don’t let bullies be bullies.
When you stand up for yourself and especially for someone else, you will succeed in this life.
12. Know when to walk away.
Even though you want to stand up to bullies, it’s not always the smartest thing to do. So, pick your battles.
13. Don’t say things that don’t make sense.
You can’t be taken seriously otherwise.
14. You’re probably more like your parents than you think.
Some family traits are hard to overcome.
15. You need to ring up a Tab, not order one.
Back then, nobody heard of a ‘Tab’ drink. So, don’t go in the past and order one!
