Netflix is turning out to be the place to be if you’re searching for 80s movies! These blasts from the past are just what you need this season to cozy up with indoors when you feel like feeding your nostalgia. Some of them will even be more appropriate to watch now, than they were when you were a kid! Others, are simply timeless classics that you will never get bored of. Now, all of them are available at the touch of your fingers. We do love technology for giving us back the 80s! Take a look:
1. E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
This was the movie that made us want to meet a stranded alien on Earth!
2. Urban Cowboy (1980).
This is a movie that we can appreciate now that we’re older. Back then, we just watched it because it was John Travolta.
3. Taps (1981).
This was an all star cast! All of our favorite guys including Tom Cruise, Sean Penn and Timothy Hutton – in uniform!
4. Amadeus (1984).
A biography about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart that is both witty and fun.
5. Can’t Buy Me Love (1987).
This movie will take you back to when you believed this statement was true.
6. Harry and the Hendersons (1987).
A heartwarming story about a family who brings home a lovable Bigfoot.
7. Adventures in Babysitting (1987).
This reminds us of why we gave up babysitting as a source of income. Too much responsibility!
8. The Princess Bride (1987).
You really can’t go wrong with this movie! It has all the humor, action and drama you’ll ever need.
9. Working Girl (1988).
A movie about a woman who wants to be successful and independent. Yes We Can ladies!
10. Coming to America (1988).
No doubt, this is Eddy Murphy at his finest! The contrast between his role as a prince and his role as a laborer in Queens, NY is done in a way that only Eddy can provide!
11. The ‘Burbs (1989).
This is a funny and creepy film that is bit out of the ordinary and well worth a second view!
12. Major League (1989).
This group of has-beens get a second chance to be the best and they take it!
