22 Things You Didn’t Know About Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) was the second instalment in the Indiana Jones trilogy after 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Some major Hollywood heavyweights were involved with the film’s production – Harrison Ford reprised his role as the fearless archaeologist, whilst Steven Spielberg directed and George Lucas provided the story.

Temple of Doom was very different to its predecessor, with audiences initially shocked at the level of graphic violence portrayed in the film, as well as the darker storylines involving human sacrifice and child slavery.

However, despite the bleaker themes of the second instalment, the film grossed a record-breaking $45.7 million in its opening week before earning $333.1 million worldwide.
