If you went to college in the 90s, chances are you experienced many of these things for the first time.  Our world around us was changing and it was important to keep up.  From fashion to technology, you were in the center of the world! So, here is a list of things that you will understand and remember fondly.

1. You got your first email address.

Everyone had an AOL account to keep in touch with their parents.

2. You and your roommate shared a landline phone.

This was the only way to keep in touch with other classmates.

3.When you got the bill, you split the charges.

But not without scrutinizing every minute and placing blame on who made that call.

4. A designated smoking section.

These existed in the dining hall.

5. In fact, you could pretty much smoke anywhere you wanted, even in your dorm room.

You were even asked if you preferred living with a smoker or non-smoker.

6. You had a Pulp Fiction poster.

This was a staple on every dorm room wall.

7. Calvin Klein ads were apparent as well.

8. On Thursday nights you gathered in the common room to watch Friends.

9. Your first vote was for Clinton or Bush.

10. Your personal computer looked like this.

11. But the ones in the lab were faster than yours.

12. You choose your classes from a physical catalog.

This could be done anywhere!
